Gate 43 in Human Design

Insights come to you from an inner listening and are hard to justify. You know something before you can explain where it comes from. Your need is to take this knowing of your own seriously, even when it sounds unusual.

Gate 43 is connected with the theme of making insights understandable in Human Design.

When your insight is brushed aside too quickly, you withdraw with it. Once it meets understanding, you see how an unusual thought can open a new door for others.

The six lines

Line 1

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 43.1:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 43, the Gate of Insight. Something arrives in you complete, without a line of thought having led there. How you got to it you can rarely retrace. You want to know your insight from the ground up before you lean on it. A second-hand account rarely satisfies you, you go back yourself to the layer everything else rests on. Until that layer is clear, whatever stands on top of it feels borrowed to you. This is not caution, it is how you come to trust anything at all. It gets tight when people call you odd and you withdraw behind that. The way back runs through one person who listens without judging straight away. Security comes to you from what you have understood, not from what you have been promised. What you once worked through to the bottom still holds when things around you get unsettled. That is where your calm comes from. When your insight comes out at the right moment, it shifts what seems possible at all for other people. Your impulse for daily life: Today you pick one place where your insight still rests on an assumption and follow it one layer deeper. Working slowly is no delay for you, it is how ground appears under your feet. In the evening you note in one sentence what you now actually understand. The rest can wait for another day.

Line 2

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 43.2:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 43, the Gate of Insight. Something arrives in you complete, without a line of thought having led there. How you got to it you can rarely retrace. Your insight comes to you without a run-up and without intention. You often notice only from the reactions of other people that something was unusual which felt entirely ordinary to you. Because it costs you so little, you tend to undervalue it. What comes easily is still worth something. In your case it is worth a great deal. It gets tight when people call you odd and you withdraw behind that. The way back runs through one person who listens without judging straight away. In between you need time in which nobody wants anything from you. What others read into you rarely matches what you find in yourself. The gap between the two is where most of your tiredness comes from. When your insight comes out at the right moment, it shifts what seems possible at all for other people. Your impulse for daily life: Today you watch for when a call from outside actually means your insight and when it only carries what someone else expects of you. You let the first call wait an hour before you answer. A no to the wrong request keeps your energy free for the right one. Nobody is owed your immediate yes.

Line 3

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 43.3:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 43, the Gate of Insight. Something arrives in you complete, without a line of thought having led there. How you got to it you can rarely retrace. You find out nothing about your insight without having tried it. What convinces you on paper you would rather test early against the resistance of reality than late. Other people sometimes see disorder in this. What looks like detour from outside is the only road on which your kind of knowledge is made. It gets tight when people call you odd and you withdraw behind that. The way back runs through one person who listens without judging straight away. Your path rarely runs straight. An attempt that does not work takes nothing from you, it cuts off a possibility you would otherwise have carried around for years. Every closed door narrows the field in a useful way. When your insight comes out at the right moment, it shifts what seems possible at all for other people. Your impulse for daily life: Today you run one small experiment with your insight whose outcome you do not know. Afterwards you look less at the result than at what you now know and did not know before. A small failure costs little. An untested assumption can cost you years.

Line 4

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 43.4:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 43, the Gate of Insight. Something arrives in you complete, without a line of thought having led there. How you got to it you can rarely retrace. Your insight works through the people who already know you. With strangers you need a run-up, inside a trusted circle the essential part almost falls into place by itself. A room full of unknown faces costs you more than an hour with three people who have known you for years. That is not shyness, it is where your ground lies. It gets tight when people call you odd and you withdraw behind that. The way back runs through one person who listens without judging straight away. A circle that carries you grows out of reliability rather than numbers. You give first and receive later, often from a side you had not counted on. Keeping the circle in good repair is itself part of your work. When your insight comes out at the right moment, it shifts what seems possible at all for other people. Your impulse for daily life: Today you turn to one person in your circle and tell them what you are working on. You ask for no favour, you simply share your insight with someone you trust. An opening comes more often from that telling than from any effort made alone. Let the conversation be the point.

Line 5

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 43.5:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 43, the Gate of Insight. Something arrives in you complete, without a line of thought having led there. How you got to it you can rarely retrace. People expect a solution from you as soon as your insight becomes visible. Part of that expectation fits you exactly, another part belongs to a picture someone has put up in front of you. Telling the two apart is the work of your life. Nobody else can do it for you, because from outside the two look identical. It gets tight when people call you odd and you withdraw behind that. The way back runs through one person who listens without judging straight away. Between rescuer and disappointment there is only one step for you. The difference is decided beforehand, in the moment you agree or let it pass. Saying less than you could is often the safer trade. When your insight comes out at the right moment, it shifts what seems possible at all for other people. Your impulse for daily life: Today you check one request to see whether it really means your insight or a picture somebody holds of you. You agree where you can deliver and you say openly where the expectation reaches beyond you. A clearly drawn line protects your standing better than any promise. Vagueness is what costs you later.

Line 6

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 43.6:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 43, the Gate of Insight. Something arrives in you complete, without a line of thought having led there. How you got to it you can rarely retrace. Your insight changes shape in you over the years. First comes a long stretch of experience, then a distance in which things sort themselves and finally a calm that others come to you for. Each stretch has its own kind of work. Treating one of them as though it were another is where most of the strain comes from. It gets tight when people call you odd and you withdraw behind that. The way back runs through one person who listens without judging straight away. What you live counts for more with you than what you say. Your standing grows not from intent but from the fact that you walked through what you speak about. People sense the difference without being able to name it. When your insight comes out at the right moment, it shifts what seems possible at all for other people. Your impulse for daily life: Today you ask which stretch you are standing in and treat it accordingly. In the middle of experience you gather without drawing conclusions yet. At a distance you sort things out and where you have long since come through, you pass your insight on quietly. No stretch is wasted time.

Right Angle Cross of Explanation

On top sits an insight that comes out of nowhere and cuts across everything currently taken for granted. Behind it lies the ability to put strange things into words somebody can follow. Underneath work a mind that drafts answers and a principle you do not shake. What comes of it is an explaining that takes a long time and then lands.

When you have understood something, at first every word for it is missing. When you speak too early, it sounds muddled and you are annoyed with yourself. And when you wait until somebody asks, you suddenly hear yourself talking clearly and simply.

The right angle means this insight comes out of you. Others collect it, they did not bring it. If none of this fits, it is the picture that is off and not you.

Juxtaposition Cross of Insight

An insight that is there without a run up. Add a translating into the understandable, a yes with long breath and a fire made of images. Together that makes a mind that suddenly knows and then searches a long time for how to say it. Between the knowing and the word there is a whole stretch of road.

When you sit in a meeting, the solution is often clear to you after two minutes. When you say it at once, nobody follows. And when you wait until the end, somebody else says it and everybody nods.

Juxtaposition means this tone is fixed. Patience makes it easier to bear, it does not make it different. If you do not recognise yourself here, that says something about the picture and nothing about you.

Left Angle Cross of Dedication

An insight out of nowhere, a translating into the understandable, a yes with staying power and a longing that burns for a long time. Alone that would be quiet brooding. Among people it becomes a giving in: you hand yourself over to a thing or a circle completely, for years, without a safety net.

When you have decided once, you are in with everything you have. When the thing disappoints you, you stay longer than would be sensible. And when you do leave, it is final and nobody saw it coming.

The left angle means this theme comes about in the encounter. Without someone across from you there would be nothing to bind yourself to. If none of this fits, it is the picture that is off and not you.

And what does this mean for you?
