Gate 15 in Human Design

Your rhythm may differ from day to day. Yet something in you stays constant. You perceive the variety of people around you with openness, without wanting to make them alike. It matters to you that every way of living has its place.

Gate 15 is connected with the theme of different rhythms in Human Design.

When a single beat is imposed on you, you quickly feel confined. Where differences may exist side by side, a great warmth towards people unfolds in you.

The six lines

Line 1

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 15.1:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes. Your pace is rarely even, full stretches are followed by empty ones and both belong to you. Your patience with people who live differently grows out of that range. You want to know your own pace from the ground up before you lean on it. A second-hand account rarely satisfies you, you go back yourself to the layer everything else rests on. Until that layer is clear, whatever stands on top of it feels borrowed to you. This is not caution, it is how you come to trust anything at all. It gets restless when you force yourself into a middle measure that is not yours. It helps to announce the change rather than suppress it. Security comes to you from what you have understood, not from what you have been promised. What you once worked through to the bottom still holds when things around you get unsettled. That is where your calm comes from. When you accept your range, you become a link between worlds that rarely meet. Your impulse for daily life: Today you pick one place where your own pace still rests on an assumption and follow it one layer deeper. Working slowly is no delay for you, it is how ground appears under your feet. In the evening you note in one sentence what you now actually understand. The rest can wait for another day.

Line 2

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 15.2:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes. Your pace is rarely even, full stretches are followed by empty ones and both belong to you. Your patience with people who live differently grows out of that range. Your own pace comes to you without a run-up and without intention. You often notice only from the reactions of other people that something was unusual which felt entirely ordinary to you. Because it costs you so little, you tend to undervalue it. What comes easily is still worth something. In your case it is worth a great deal. It gets restless when you force yourself into a middle measure that is not yours. It helps to announce the change rather than suppress it. In between you need time in which nobody wants anything from you. What others read into you rarely matches what you find in yourself. The gap between the two is where most of your tiredness comes from. When you accept your range, you become a link between worlds that rarely meet. Your impulse for daily life: Today you watch for when a call from outside actually means your own pace and when it only carries what someone else expects of you. You let the first call wait an hour before you answer. A no to the wrong request keeps your energy free for the right one. Nobody is owed your immediate yes.

Line 3

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 15.3:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes. Your pace is rarely even, full stretches are followed by empty ones and both belong to you. Your patience with people who live differently grows out of that range. You find out nothing about your own pace without having tried it. What convinces you on paper you would rather test early against the resistance of reality than late. Other people sometimes see disorder in this. What looks like detour from outside is the only road on which your kind of knowledge is made. It gets restless when you force yourself into a middle measure that is not yours. It helps to announce the change rather than suppress it. Your path rarely runs straight. An attempt that does not work takes nothing from you, it cuts off a possibility you would otherwise have carried around for years. Every closed door narrows the field in a useful way. When you accept your range, you become a link between worlds that rarely meet. Your impulse for daily life: Today you run one small experiment with your own pace whose outcome you do not know. Afterwards you look less at the result than at what you now know and did not know before. A small failure costs little. An untested assumption can cost you years.

Line 4

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 15.4:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes. Your pace is rarely even, full stretches are followed by empty ones and both belong to you. Your patience with people who live differently grows out of that range. Your own pace works through the people who already know you. With strangers you need a run-up, inside a trusted circle the essential part almost falls into place by itself. A room full of unknown faces costs you more than an hour with three people who have known you for years. That is not shyness, it is where your ground lies. It gets restless when you force yourself into a middle measure that is not yours. It helps to announce the change rather than suppress it. A circle that carries you grows out of reliability rather than numbers. You give first and receive later, often from a side you had not counted on. Keeping the circle in good repair is itself part of your work. When you accept your range, you become a link between worlds that rarely meet. Your impulse for daily life: Today you turn to one person in your circle and tell them what you are working on. You ask for no favour, you simply share your own pace with someone you trust. An opening comes more often from that telling than from any effort made alone. Let the conversation be the point.

Line 5

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 15.5:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes. Your pace is rarely even, full stretches are followed by empty ones and both belong to you. Your patience with people who live differently grows out of that range. People expect a solution from you as soon as your own pace becomes visible. Part of that expectation fits you exactly, another part belongs to a picture someone has put up in front of you. Telling the two apart is the work of your life. Nobody else can do it for you, because from outside the two look identical. It gets restless when you force yourself into a middle measure that is not yours. It helps to announce the change rather than suppress it. Between rescuer and disappointment there is only one step for you. The difference is decided beforehand, in the moment you agree or let it pass. Saying less than you could is often the safer trade. When you accept your range, you become a link between worlds that rarely meet. Your impulse for daily life: Today you check one request to see whether it really means your own pace or a picture somebody holds of you. You agree where you can deliver and you say openly where the expectation reaches beyond you. A clearly drawn line protects your standing better than any promise. Vagueness is what costs you later.

Line 6

If your conscious Sun is in Gate 15.6:

Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes. Your pace is rarely even, full stretches are followed by empty ones and both belong to you. Your patience with people who live differently grows out of that range. Your own pace changes shape in you over the years. First comes a long stretch of experience, then a distance in which things sort themselves and finally a calm that others come to you for. Each stretch has its own kind of work. Treating one of them as though it were another is where most of the strain comes from. It gets restless when you force yourself into a middle measure that is not yours. It helps to announce the change rather than suppress it. What you live counts for more with you than what you say. Your standing grows not from intent but from the fact that you walked through what you speak about. People sense the difference without being able to name it. When you accept your range, you become a link between worlds that rarely meet. Your impulse for daily life: Today you ask which stretch you are standing in and treat it accordingly. In the middle of experience you gather without drawing conclusions yet. At a distance you sort things out and where you have long since come through, you pass your own pace on quietly. No stretch is wasted time.

Incarnation crosses with Gate 15 as Sun gate

Right Angle Cross of the Vessel of Love

Right at the top lies a span that holds a great deal of difference. Sometimes much, sometimes little, sometimes loud, sometimes entirely quiet. Underneath an agreement with your own nature, an affection without conditions and a body that responds to chance.

When you try to live every day the same, it gets tight. When you follow your waves, others take you for unreliable, though you are not. And when you say how your waves run, most people are relieved.

The right angle means this span is yours. Others line themselves up with it, they did not bring it. If you do not recognise yourself here, that says something about the picture and nothing about you.

Juxtaposition Cross of Extremes

A wide span at the front, underneath a quiet yes to your own nature. Add a head full of opinions and an eye for whatever is out of true. Out of it comes a life in swings that cannot be talked into the middle. Both belong to you, even when only one of them is visible.

When you are in a full stretch, you do a great deal. When you are in the other one, hardly anything moves and you take yourself for lazy. And when someone tells you to level out, it does not help at all. Your force arrives in surges and not as an even stream.

Juxtaposition means this swing is fixed. It is not a question of attitude. If none of this fits, it is the picture that is off and not you.

Left Angle Cross of Prevention

A wide span, an agreement with yourself, a stream of opinions and an eye for things out of true. Alone that stays a rhythm. With others it turns into watching that nobody falls out of the beat the group currently needs. What you measure is not your measure but the measure of the room.

When somebody in a room is going under, you notice first. When you step in, it sometimes looks like patronising. And when you do nothing, you are left sitting with it afterwards. There is hardly a comfortable choice in between.

The left angle means this theme comes about at other people. Without a group there would be no beat to watch. If you do not recognise yourself here, that says something about the picture and nothing about you.
