Human Design: the inner authority is the place that carries a decision for you. Which one it is depends on which centres in your chart are defined; there is a fixed order for that.

Mental Authority, Outer Authority
The Essence: You have no inner authority in the classical sense, and that is precisely your gift. Without defined motors below the Throat, you are an open receiver who absorbs and reflects the wisdom of your environment. Your decision-making works through dialogue: speak with different people in different places about your decision. Through this process, a clarity crystallizes that runs deeper than any individual perspective.
The Shadow: The openness that is your greatest gift can become your greatest trap. You adopt the opinions, emotions, and convictions of others and mistake them for your own. The shadow shows itself when you make decisions that “feel right” but in truth only mirror the conditioning of your environment.
Cosmic Advice: Diversity is your key. Do not speak with just one person, speak with many. Visit different places before you decide. Observe how your perspective shifts depending on where you are and who you are with. The truth is what remains constant across all contexts, the still core that does not change no matter how loud the surroundings become.
