A longing burns in you to live new things and to feel what life holds in store. You perceive this yearning as aliveness that need not be fulfilled at once. Behind it lies the need to let the experience itself touch you.
Gate 30 is connected with the theme of understanding wishes in Human Design.
When you tie your happiness to a fixed outcome, disappointment can weigh heavily. Once you leave open what comes, your yearning becomes a source of joy and curiosity.
The six lines
Line 1
If your conscious Sun is in Gate 30.1:
Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 30, the Gate of Longing. A wish for experience burns in you that cannot be switched off. It colours what you live through and drives you on long before any goal is settled.
You want to know your longing from the ground up before you lean on it. A second-hand account rarely satisfies you, you go back yourself to the layer everything else rests on. Until that layer is clear, whatever stands on top of it feels borrowed to you. This is not caution, it is how you come to trust anything at all.
It gets exhausting when you hold on to an outcome that is simply not available right now. Letting the wish stand and choosing a smaller next step helps more. Security comes to you from what you have understood, not from what you have been promised. What you once worked through to the bottom still holds when things around you get unsettled. That is where your calm comes from.
When you tend this fire without burning yourself up in it, it leads you into experiences nobody could plan.
Your impulse for daily life: Today you pick one place where your longing still rests on an assumption and follow it one layer deeper. Working slowly is no delay for you, it is how ground appears under your feet. In the evening you note in one sentence what you now actually understand. The rest can wait for another day.
Line 2
If your conscious Sun is in Gate 30.2:
Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 30, the Gate of Longing. A wish for experience burns in you that cannot be switched off. It colours what you live through and drives you on long before any goal is settled.
Your longing comes to you without a run-up and without intention. You often notice only from the reactions of other people that something was unusual which felt entirely ordinary to you. Because it costs you so little, you tend to undervalue it. What comes easily is still worth something. In your case it is worth a great deal.
It gets exhausting when you hold on to an outcome that is simply not available right now. Letting the wish stand and choosing a smaller next step helps more. In between you need time in which nobody wants anything from you. What others read into you rarely matches what you find in yourself. The gap between the two is where most of your tiredness comes from.
When you tend this fire without burning yourself up in it, it leads you into experiences nobody could plan.
Your impulse for daily life: Today you watch for when a call from outside actually means your longing and when it only carries what someone else expects of you. You let the first call wait an hour before you answer. A no to the wrong request keeps your energy free for the right one. Nobody is owed your immediate yes.
Line 3
If your conscious Sun is in Gate 30.3:
Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 30, the Gate of Longing. A wish for experience burns in you that cannot be switched off. It colours what you live through and drives you on long before any goal is settled.
You find out nothing about your longing without having tried it. What convinces you on paper you would rather test early against the resistance of reality than late. Other people sometimes see disorder in this. What looks like detour from outside is the only road on which your kind of knowledge is made.
It gets exhausting when you hold on to an outcome that is simply not available right now. Letting the wish stand and choosing a smaller next step helps more. Your path rarely runs straight. An attempt that does not work takes nothing from you, it cuts off a possibility you would otherwise have carried around for years. Every closed door narrows the field in a useful way.
When you tend this fire without burning yourself up in it, it leads you into experiences nobody could plan.
Your impulse for daily life: Today you run one small experiment with your longing whose outcome you do not know. Afterwards you look less at the result than at what you now know and did not know before. A small failure costs little. An untested assumption can cost you years.
Line 4
If your conscious Sun is in Gate 30.4:
Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 30, the Gate of Longing. A wish for experience burns in you that cannot be switched off. It colours what you live through and drives you on long before any goal is settled.
Your longing works through the people who already know you. With strangers you need a run-up, inside a trusted circle the essential part almost falls into place by itself. A room full of unknown faces costs you more than an hour with three people who have known you for years. That is not shyness, it is where your ground lies.
It gets exhausting when you hold on to an outcome that is simply not available right now. Letting the wish stand and choosing a smaller next step helps more. A circle that carries you grows out of reliability rather than numbers. You give first and receive later, often from a side you had not counted on. Keeping the circle in good repair is itself part of your work.
When you tend this fire without burning yourself up in it, it leads you into experiences nobody could plan.
Your impulse for daily life: Today you turn to one person in your circle and tell them what you are working on. You ask for no favour, you simply share your longing with someone you trust. An opening comes more often from that telling than from any effort made alone. Let the conversation be the point.
Line 5
If your conscious Sun is in Gate 30.5:
Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 30, the Gate of Longing. A wish for experience burns in you that cannot be switched off. It colours what you live through and drives you on long before any goal is settled.
People expect a solution from you as soon as your longing becomes visible. Part of that expectation fits you exactly, another part belongs to a picture someone has put up in front of you. Telling the two apart is the work of your life. Nobody else can do it for you, because from outside the two look identical.
It gets exhausting when you hold on to an outcome that is simply not available right now. Letting the wish stand and choosing a smaller next step helps more. Between rescuer and disappointment there is only one step for you. The difference is decided beforehand, in the moment you agree or let it pass. Saying less than you could is often the safer trade.
When you tend this fire without burning yourself up in it, it leads you into experiences nobody could plan.
Your impulse for daily life: Today you check one request to see whether it really means your longing or a picture somebody holds of you. You agree where you can deliver and you say openly where the expectation reaches beyond you. A clearly drawn line protects your standing better than any promise. Vagueness is what costs you later.
Line 6
If your conscious Sun is in Gate 30.6:
Your conscious Sun sits in Gate 30, the Gate of Longing. A wish for experience burns in you that cannot be switched off. It colours what you live through and drives you on long before any goal is settled.
Your longing changes shape in you over the years. First comes a long stretch of experience, then a distance in which things sort themselves and finally a calm that others come to you for. Each stretch has its own kind of work. Treating one of them as though it were another is where most of the strain comes from.
It gets exhausting when you hold on to an outcome that is simply not available right now. Letting the wish stand and choosing a smaller next step helps more. What you live counts for more with you than what you say. Your standing grows not from intent but from the fact that you walked through what you speak about. People sense the difference without being able to name it.
When you tend this fire without burning yourself up in it, it leads you into experiences nobody could plan.
Your impulse for daily life: Today you ask which stretch you are standing in and treat it accordingly. In the middle of experience you gather without drawing conclusions yet. At a distance you sort things out and where you have long since come through, you pass your longing on quietly. No stretch is wasted time.
Incarnation crosses with Gate 30 as Sun gate
Right Angle Cross of Contagion
Right at the front burns a longing. It catches on a picture of something that is not here yet. It can burn for a long time. Underneath lies a yes that holds out, a force that follows joy and the wish to show the good in a thing. Together they make a fire that draws other people in.
When you are gripped by something, you want it whole and at once. When it does arrive, the fire has sometimes already moved on. And when you simply let a longing stand without making plans for it, it gets clearer instead of smaller.
The right angle means this fire comes from you. Others feel the warmth, you are the one who lit it. If none of this fits, it is the picture that is off and not you.
Juxtaposition Cross of Fates
A longing that catches on images, plus a yes with long breath. Underneath a force that follows its own track and an awareness that lives in the moment. Out of it comes a desire that looks for its own routes, whether you agree or not.
When a picture has caught you once, it does not let go for a long time. When you try to push it away, it comes back in another shape. And when you follow the fire without thinking it to pieces, it takes you to places you did not pick.
Juxtaposition means this desire is fixed. You can decide differently, you cannot feel differently. If you do not recognise yourself here, that says something about the picture and nothing about you.
Left Angle Cross of Industry
A fire made of images, a yes with staying power, a track of force of your own and an awake now. On your own that would be a pleasant restlessness. Among people it turns into work that only ignites when your fire meets the fire of somebody else. Before that it is warmth without a workpiece.
When you listen to somebody telling you about their plan, you burn along before you have checked it. When that fire goes out, the work is left lying. And when you look for somebody who burns in a similar way, you hold out for months. Alone the same thing goes out after weeks.
The left angle means this theme comes about at other people. Without a fire next to yours, yours stays a mood. If you do not recognise yourself here, that says something about the picture and nothing about you.
