Channel of Community (Gate 37 – Gate 40), Solar Plexus to Ego

The Essence: You are the emotional foundation upon which families, teams, and communities are built. Gate 37, "Friendship," radiates an emotional warmth that invites others to become part of a community. Gate 40, "Aloneness," supplies the Ego-willpower to work for this community, under one clear condition: the agreement must be fair. Together they form the channel of giving and receiving, of loyalty and just contracts.

The Shadow: Your shadow appears when agreements become one-sided. You give and give until you burn out because you believe loyalty means unconditional self-sacrifice. Or conversely: you withdraw completely when you feel your contribution is not appreciated. Both destroy the very community you are trying to build.
